1. Brief introduction:
The rotary kiln is an improvement and further development of the tunnel kiln. Its greatest feature is that the stack of bricks does not move when the kiln body rotates. The kiln body is made entirely of steel and runs on a circular rail. From front to back it is divided into a drying area, a preheating area, a roasting area, a thermal protection area and a cooling area. The billet cutter moves in the same direction as the furnace body. The mobile and rotating kiln body moves intermittently along the rail, with the front part “eating” the bricks, and the rear part “spitting out” them, completing the whole process of drying, heating, roasting, cooling process in the same kiln system.
Compared with the ordinary tunnel kiln, the bricks of the rotary tunnel kiln are stacked on the bottom of the circular kiln at one time, and are moved by the kiln body to complete the burning of bricks, so no kiln car and supporting facilities are needed. The general cross-section of traditional tunnel kiln is 2.7-4.5 meters, while the general cross-section of circular tunnel kiln can reach about 16 meters, which can ‘eat’ more bricks at one time and increase the output.
Burning bricks requires coal consumption, how to improve thermal efficiency is the key point of brick kiln technology. The sintering temperature of the bricks is between 850°C and 980°C. The rotary tunnel kiln is built with aluminum silicate refractory fiber bricks, which can not only reduce the weight of the kiln body and the thermal expansion and contraction stress of the kiln body. Greatly improve its heat insulation, keep the kiln temperature for a long time, eat more bricks at one time with large cross-section, and the heat of internal combustion can effectively increase the temperature in the kiln body and save fuel. In ordinary tunnel kilns, in order to prevent the high-temperature flue gas from flowing down and burning the kiln car, it is necessary to set up the air supply under the car. The bricks of the rotary tunnel kiln are directly stacked on the ground, so there is no need for air supply from the bottom of the car, and the ground temperature is directly and fully utilized.
